Hrisi Ammoudia (Golden Beach) is situated very near the village Panagia. A small village which once was the principal town of Thassos. The village took its name from the church called Panagia, which means The Virgin Mairy. The church contains artifacts dating back to the times of the Holy Crusades and many holy relics. The present day church was built in 1882.
The villagers have kept th traditional Greek style of housing and customs. A walk through the narrow streets will take you back through the history of the island.
Daily excursions also visit Pefkari, Psili Ammos and Kinira with their wooden landscape, Aliki which has natural pools among the pine trees, Astrida here you can find sheltered bay to enjoy swimming and sunbathing with its clear blue sky and Theologos which has traditional Macedonian architecture.
The capital of Thassos, Limenas, is about fifteen minutes by car from our hotel.
